Lamoille County COVID-19 Resources

Clarina Howard Nichols Center

If you are a survivor, there is help.  Clarina's advocates are ready to answer 24/7 – 802-888-5256.  Advocates are available to listen and can help with safety planning, exploring legal options including filing Relief from Abuse Orders and police reports, and exploring shelter options.  If you can’t reach out now, they will be here later when you can.

If you know someone who is isolated at home with an abusive partner, you can help.  You are welcome to call Clarina's hotline to receive support and suggestions about how you can best support your friend, colleague, or family member.

Here are some basic tips:
Reach out: call, video chat, go for a walk (maintaining social distancing, of course)
Listen: allow the survivor to share what they want, when they want
Believe: do not question the survivor about the severity or details of the abuse
Offer resources: share Clarina’s hotline number, talk about safety planning
Don’t judge: the survivor knows the safest options for their circumstance
