Racial Equity Alliance of Lamoille (REAL)

REAL is a community coalition, open to all who invested in building a safe, equitable, antiracist community where all can thrive regardless of the color of their skin, ethnicity, religion, sexuality, gender, or any other aspect of identity. REAL envisions a community that embodies inclusion, equity, and justice as values central to identity. REAL’s monthly Community Coalition Conversations are an entry point for community members to engage in honest and frank discussions.  Participants pre-register and enter a forum where the community begins to grapple with challenging topics with open minds and hearts.  Participants are encouraged to return each month to expand on shared ideas and collaborate towards ending deep rooted racism.:

  • 5-6:30
  • Each month a different theme is explored, led by a facilitator.
  • To be added to the invite list, email

REAL subcommittees are volunteer community members who dedicate time on their personal anti-racisit educational journey, as well as one of the four subcommittees below. Members meet virtually one evening a month to plan, discuss strategies, and organize actions to respond to community needs.  Groups  grow through individual outreach and connections made during REAL Community Coalition Conversations.
