CARE (Citizens Assistance Registry for Emergencies)

In 2006, our United Way, in partnership with the Lamoille County Sheriff's Department, started a program to identify people in our community who would need extra help in an emergency.  This program was put to the test during Tropical Storm Irene and worked very well. C.A.R.E. stands for Citizens Assistance Registry for Emergencies.

We expanded our partnership to include E911, Vermont 2-1-1, and the United Ways of Vermont.  In 2015, this program went statewide!

If you or someone you know would need assistance, please visit the State of Vermont's E911 Website.

Information is entered into the E911 system and will only be used in the event of an emergency.  All information is destroyed once it has been entered into the system.  E911 updates the records annually.
