How To Help

COVID-19 Response Fund

Free Meals for Children & Youth

The USDA has extended waivers allowing schools to provide free meals to all children 18 and under. Regardless of the learning model a child is in this school year (hybrid, full remote, homeschool, not yet enrolled in the school system), anyone 18 or under is automatically eligible for free breakfast and lunch daily. All students can get free breakfast and lunch on the days they are in school. People 18 and under who are not in school for any reason can pick up free meals in these ways:

Sign up here for Lamoille North curbside food pickup, and email questions to: LNMealdelivery@lnsd.org

Lamoille South has two pickup spots:

9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.   Entrance to Peoples Academy gym

9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.   Entrance to Stowe High School

OSSU asks families to arrange pickup with local schools directly, so they can make sure to meet all needs and prepare enough meals.

Free meals are not only for families in need, and you won't be "taking a way" a meal from someone in need if you decide to get a meal for your child. The more meals served, the better it is for our schools’ food and nutrition programs. More meals served means more local products into our schools, which equals better nutrition to our students.
