Unemployment Insurance

The State of Vermont has a comprehensive guide to unemployment insurance here. You may be eligible for unemployment benefits even if you usually are not. If you cannot find the answers on the website, call 877-214-3332.

 

Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) and Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation (PEUC) programs:

  • Extended until April 10, 2021
  • Claims must be made by March 14, 2021

Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation (FPUC) program will provide an additional $300 weekly benefit above weekly benefit amount until March 14, 2021. Claimants who had previously exhausted their PUA or PEUC benefits and are still unemployed can log into their claimant portal and resume filing beginning January 3, 2021. Capstone Community Action has a Lamoille Community Fund for those impacted by COVID-19. Call 999-7993 to apply.

Stowe residents or employees can get assistance with groceries or essential needs.

United Way's COVID Response Fund for help with utilities, rent or other basic needs: download this form, fill it out electronically, and email it back to unitedway@uwlamoille.org. The use of United Way of Lamoille County's response fund is solely for the financial impacts caused by the COVID-19 outbreak.
